Our Commitment to Safety
At Support Humans, your safety is our top priority. We understand that trusting a professional service with sensitive information is a huge step, and we take our responsibility to protect you and your loved ones very seriously. Our safeguarding policy is at the heart of everything we do.
We have a clear and non-negotiable approach: If we have a safeguarding concern, we will report it. Our highly trained team knows how to identify potential signs of abuse or neglect. We are experts in advocacy and support, not in investigation. This is a crucial distinction. We firmly believe that a serious safeguarding concern can only be handled effectively by the relevant statutory agencies, like the police or social services. Trying to investigate on our own could inadvertently put someone at greater risk or compromise a future investigation.
Our Safeguarding Process: Your Protection is Our Priority
1. Identify and Respond
Our team is trained to listen carefully and without judgment. If a concern is raised with us, we will respond calmly and will never question the individual to preserve their well-being and any potential evidence. We will document what was said or observed accurately and factually.
2. Report and Refer
Any concern that meets the threshold for a statutory referral is reported to our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Sarah Hawkins, without delay. She is responsible for ensuring the concern is immediately passed on to the police or social services as required by law.
3. We Empower You to Act
We also strongly encourage anyone with a safeguarding concern to report directly to the relevant external agencies. This ensures independent oversight and provides an additional, direct avenue for resolution. We will cooperate fully with any and all investigations undertaken by statutory agencies, always in the best interest of the client and in line with our data protection policy.
We want you to feel secure and protected when you work with us. Our unwavering commitment is to ensure that you are safe, respected, and heard.
